Glass fabric with polyurethane coating (PU / PU-Alufix) has increased cut resistance and generally good mechanical durability. The PU coating protects the glass fabric from mechanical stress and facilitates processing through improved cut resistance. Typical applications for glass fabric with PU coating include thermal insulation systems, use as welding blankets and welding curtains, and they are also used as large-area heat protection tarps. These fabrics are particularly well-suited for applications with increased mechanical stress, providing protection against sparks, weld spatter, and flames.

Technical Characteristics
- Glass fabric with polyurethane coating (PU / PU-Alufix) has excellent tear resistance in both directions (warp and weft)
- The good cut resistance offers many advantages for the further processing of these materials
- Glass fabrics with PU coating have good resistance to many chemicals and solvents
- The polyurethane coating protects the glass fabric from UV radiation and makes the materials more weather-resistant
- Good electrical insulation properties
- Can be very well bonded or laminated with other materials
- Good flexibility, remains flexible even at low temperatures
- Good processing properties; can be cut and processed with standard tools
