Glass Fabric with Aluminum Foil
Glass fabrics laminated with aluminum foil provide excellent heat reflection properties at radiant temperatures up to 1000 °C. Optionally, these fabrics can also be equipped with a self-adhesive backing on one side for easier installation. Typical products made from these materials include heat protection curtains, heat shields, heat barriers, compensators, thermal protection covers, and insulation for machinery and components, designed to protect against high radiant temperatures.

Technical Characteristics
- Glass fabrics have excellent thermal stability and can withstand temperatures up to 600 °C. The additional lamination with reflective aluminum foil provides extra protection against radiant heat up to 1000 °C and can reflect up to 90% of incoming radiant heat.
- Glass fabrics have high mechanical strength, while being flexible, easy to work with, and resistant to abrasion and corrosion.
- The aluminum foils are flexible and crease-resistant.
- The aluminum foil acts as a protective layer against moisture, vapors, and aggressive chemicals, thereby increasing the longevity of the material.
Application Examples
- Production of thermal insulation systems, e.g., for the thermal insulation of pipelines, to minimize heat loss and improve the efficiency of heating systems.
- Protective covers for machines and equipment exposed to high temperatures.
- For the insulation of engine and exhaust components where heat resistance and protection from radiant heat are required.
- Insulation of catalysts and exhaust systems to regulate temperature and improve efficiency.
- Protection of conveyor belts and other industrial systems against heat damage.
- Protection of machines and systems against extreme temperatures and heat exposure in foundries and smelting plants.
